In Spirit Blog

Summer is typically the time of year when we visit some of those who are part of Back to Eden Group or they come and visit us in Kelowna.  Recently we made the long drive down Interstate 5 (a.k.a. I5) and visited with some of our Oregon contingent.  While we are a growing online community or electronic ekklesia, there is also no substitute for meeting face to face.  One such person we visited is Canyon.  You may have seen some of his comments on various posts on this site.

Canyon PicCanyon has given us permission to tell his story without reservation.  We do so for only one reason – to provoke our readers to come together as a community and seek justice in his life.  Canyon justice.  It has a nice ring to it.

Simply put, Canyon is a young man in his early twenties who has been falsely accused of sexual assault of a young girl.  His ex-girlfriend’s mother is responsible for the accusation as a fulfilment of a threat to ruin his life because of her disapproval of his relationship with her older daughter.  The young girl supposedly assaulted is a 2 year old foster child within the same home.  Canyon has been adamant of his innocence since the initial accusation.  Many in his town, including others in the Oregon B2E Group community, believe him.  We have corresponded with him for several months and visited him earlier in August.  In the picture he is holding the young girl of a precious couple and our good friends in the B2E Group community. We and they believe him as well.

In Oregon, the law is written in the favour of the accuser and Canyon is effectively under house arrest with an electronic monitoring device attached to his ankle to ensure he travels only between his home and work.  He has been in this state for over a year which is obviously life impacting in so many ways.  It is truly unfortunate that a law intended to protect the vulnerable from real abuse is itself being abused in this case.  His lawyer has been trying to convince Canyon to plead guilty to lessen his sentence.  Canyon refuses to do so because he knows he is innocent and is willing to risk a potential 30 year sentence.

Canyon’s trial begins next week.  Our request is that when the earthly court is in session in Oregon that all of B2E Group call the heavenly court into session to render the King’s true justice in this case.  Pray that all lying tongues be silenced and that the truth be revealed to all.  This is our opportunity to do some serious Spirit business as a community of which Canyon is a part.

We know that B2E Group has many readers but not nearly as many participants (e.g. through comments or various B2E Group events).  This is an opportunity to step in and be part of something special.  You know what to do.

All prayers and words of encouragement  on our site or Facebook page are welcome.  Please let Canyon know he is not alone.

May the God of all justice defend the innocent and convict the guilty.

John and Katherine Matthews

B2E Group

P.S. Note that Canyon has given permission for us to publish any part of his story since he knows he is innocent.  He is not afraid of the light.  May we all be so courageous.

Thanks for sharing my story sapphire, before these acussitons, I like most was disgusted by the thought of pedophiles and people of that nature. But my eyes have been opened, the only person who can prove a negative is god. And as we walk into the courtroom on the 26th may the lies be sigh lent and only truth be spoken, and lord I want to thankyou for all the friends and family I have made through this journey although it has been though it has shaped me into more of the man I believe you want me to be! Amen and thanks again Katherine and jhon and the others I have connected with it mean more than you could ever imagine.

Isaiah 54:17 no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed,
and you shall confute every tongue that rises against you in judgment.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.”….

God has great and mighty plans for you, this I am sure you have come to know. All he asks of us is if we trust him and believe in him who he says he is. This is one of the biggest test in that. Staying the course and not bending to the persecution no matter the cost. Your reward will be much and the accuser will have to answer to it. Oh may the fear of God land on her head. My prayers are with you and may the Spirit of God flow through u in that courtroom and may the light of truth shine and be known in all the land.

Canyon my brother…I admonish and encourage you with Hebrews 11:1 “Faith is a substance of things hoped for the evidence “title deed” of things not yet seen.” Your title deed is awaiting you in the unseen realm of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. As it says in Revelations when John the Beloved was in anguish wondering who was worthy to open the seal that was sealed from all of mankind? The answer was the lamb who was slain the lamb of God. The decree from the kingdom realm is in your favor. The seals and the books are open in the courts of heaven to act on your behalf in justice and mercy. May the wings of the cherubim and seraphim that surround the throne of the Holy One encamp around you and lift you up. Isaiah 40:11 “Those who wait upon the Lord shall not grow weary but renew their strength they shall mount up with wings like eagles they shall run and not grow weary and walk and not faint” Take courage brother. Next time you look up at the sky full of stars know that the heavenly view that you see is looking down upon you right now…Your purpose and destiny are at stake…but God will not back down…he will defend you.

Canyon my brother, stay strong with your faith in our Lord. Through the most trying trials of life, we find peace in the Lord. I can say I am with you in prayer and in your peace my friend. I this day and each day send sincere prayers that you are at peace with what God has lying in front of you and your life. I have seen our God’s power in so many ways that I did not understand. We are not supposed to truly understand why things happen, yet in the near future of each trial we do see The Grace Of GOD! I look back at so many things I didn’t understand and now I know what God Was doing! Peace and love from all your friends here and there Canyon!

Canyon, I remember one thing that has been with me through all things. When I was 19 years of age and had no idea of God, I picked up the bible and read through it. At this point in my life I knew nothing and knew not where to go. Through the reading of the bible I kept one Psalm in my heart and mind, that stayed with me through thick and thin. Psalm 23: “The Lord is my Shepard and I shall not want. He makes me lie down in still pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He Leads me in the paths of righteousness for his names sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you art with me, your rod and staff comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I shall dwell in the house of the lord forever”. …… I have recited this so many times in my life, even when I was not sure of anything. Now I know why God put this Psalm in my heart and mind, so that it would give me strength when I HAD NONE! I have always had a feeling that I could get through all things, yet this made me strong when I was unsure!

LIfe is good and like you Canyon we are grateful for pilgrims who are travelling along the same journey with us. One day the sunset is glorious and we feast our senses on the scent of pine and the songs of the crickets . Yet the next day the winds blow and darkness dulls our minds. Our faithful master Jesus taught us that ‘in this world we WILL have tribulations, and trials. BUT that He has overcome the world’. It is encouraging to remind ourselves that Jesus also declared that He came to earth (the Son of God was manifest) to destroy the works of the devil. You know. truth be told many of us are now suffering injustices, cruel unfair treatment. We can be confident that God knows the truth. He will in His time bring ALL THINGS into accounting. For now, let us continue to give thanks at all times. And walk together strengthening one another with assurance that the love of God will be manifest………….. ‘and destroy the works of the devil’.

    Canyon,
Do not give up hope. Do not despair, for the Lord your God is with you. Have courage! The Hebrew for courage as in PSALM 27:14 is “chazaq” which comes from the root word: to fasten upon. Meaning, to seize, to be strong, obstinate, to grit your teeth in resolve, white-knuckle your grip on your sword, strengthen, to withstand.
So take CHAZAK in YHWH, you God!
Wait for the Lord, Canyon; be strong and let your heart take CHAZAK; yes, wait for the Lord.

Your story has been shared all throughout. The saints of the Most High are standing with you. We speak for Truth to be revealed in all things!! Psalm 63. Yes. The One who was. And is. And is to come, as described in Revelation 1:12-20.
The Word of Truth cuts through every lie and distraction.

“BEHOLD! The eye of the Lord is upon those who fear him, and hope for his lovingkindness to deliver their soul from death and to keep them alive in famine!” -psalm 33:18-19 this has been an anchor for me in the midst of many storms. The Lord sees amd hears. We praise Him!

    Shalom to you, Canyon!

As we walk through life, we all must come to trust the Giver of Life… for life itself. I am reminded of what Jesus said in Matthew 6:25-34 “…do not worry, your Father in heaven feeds the birds and makes the fields beautiful, how much moreso will He do for you, his son?” (Fiona’s paraphrase)
Your life speaks loud the good news of Christ!

Tomorrow, Thursday August 21st Back to Eden group is celebrating our second yearly HQ gathering. We will be going out on the lakes of Okanagan to enjoy our Fathers creation. And we will be having communion on the lake and praying for the B2egroup family but specifically for you and Chester’s present hour. Everyone one of us are walking in places that are just too big for us to handle but when we choose to put our trust in Gods ability, walk together, pray and really speak Gods view into each other, we will over come. God continue to strengthen you with the growing awareness of his nearness. And thank you for praying for us Canyon and we believe you will be with us next time (:

Canyon, I was reminded today…. in more ways than one, that the Holy Spirit has not left us as orphans,or alone!
    John 14:16-31
    Especially verse 27:
“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give you. Do not let your heart be troubled, not let it be fearful.”

The world has a standard of peace… but our King gives us a GREAT promise – peace BEYOND!!!!

As Jimmy was saying, refiners fire! If you keep reading on in chapter 15, Jesus the Risen Son says: “I am thr true vine, & my Father is the vinedresser. Each branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; & every branch that bears fruit, He prunes (or cleans… a word used to describe pruning) it so it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.”

Though pruning, cleaning and refining are not pleasant or “feel good”, we can TRUST in the lovingkindness of the Lord our Master Gardener that He knows what is good for us; what is necessary for the good work which He started.

You are strong in the Lord, & He IS your shield!!

Blessed are those who believe even when they cannot see!
Today the Lord showed me many many ways how He is sooooo involved!
I’ve been sharing your story in anticipation of what the Lord will do.
I’m training my replacement at work right now, because I’m going to school… as tou know.
She asked today how you were feeling, I said you told me a little nervous but more excited. She could hardly believe her ears. She asked, how could someone be so strong, so young. She couldn’t grasp it. Your life has been like an open doorway to share the GOOD NEWS of Jesus, the Risen Son of God – our Saviour!
    Hallelujah!!!!
Let the name of the Lord be praised, and Truth reign over the courtrooms in Oregon.
    Psalm 63:1-5
“Vs.4 – so I will bless You as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.”

The Lord is with those who fear Him to deliver him through fire and storm. Jesus is the only one we should fear, He is the Lord of our lives and He is intimately acquainted with all our ways.
Lets all agree in prayer tonight for Canyon that Jesus is the Highest and Greatest Advocate in that courtroom and is standing on Canyons behalf. Jesus knows the paths He wants Canyon to walk in, lets agree with heaven for Gods will to come forth.
